Strength and conditioning for athletes whose sport isn't lifting
Granite — a strength coach for athletes whose sport isn't lifting
Every app gives you a plan. Granite gives you a coach.
Twelve weeks, rewritten every week around what you actually lifted, what hurt, and everything else you did to your body that week.
Tuesday, as the block wrote it. Tell Granite what else you did this week. Granite · Weekly review
- You train
- You log what happened
- It rewrites next week, and tells you why
The bit nothing else does
You rolled hard last night. Your shoulder's flaring. Granite already knows — today's session changed, and it tells you why.
It doesn't ask whether you'd like to lower the weight. It lowers the weight, then explains itself. That's what a coach does.
Five decisions, every week
- The programme
- Written for your lifts, your equipment and the days you can actually train. Not a template with your name at the top.
- The weekly rewrite
- Every week it reads what happened and writes the next one. The programme you finish is not the programme you started.
- Deloads are triggered
- Not scheduled. Granite watches your RPE, your missed reps and how much you've done off the platform. The week you back off is the week you need to, not the eighth one.
- Injury is an input
- Not a disclaimer. Flag pain and the exercise changes — not to a lighter weight, to a different movement chosen to keep the session's intent. Rehab work is never cut.
- The rest of your week
- Six hard rounds on Tuesday changes what Wednesday should be. No other strength app knows you were there. Granite counts it, and programmes around it.
You can read every decision it makes
Most apps hand you a number and expect you to trust it. Granite writes the reasoning down, week after week, and keeps it. Scroll back through a block and read what your coach was thinking in March.
Shoulder flagged twice, six out of ten. Pressing comes out and the neutral grip goes in. Two hard mat sessions this week on top of a climbing RPE, so accessories drop twenty percent. Bench holds until the shoulder settles. Granite · Weekly review
Twelve weeks. None of them the same.
Back squat, top set, across one block. It climbs until you stall, then the coach forces a deload — the week the fatigue arrives, not the week the calendar says. The two it changed are the two that make the twelve weeks work.

You could ask a chatbot. You'd have to ask it.
Granite doesn't wait for the question. It reads your week, makes the call, and has already changed Tuesday before you open the app.
A coach you have to prompt isn't a coach. It's a search box.
The gym is not the only thing making you tired
Every strength programme ever written pretends otherwise. Then it asks for a heavy squat the morning after ninety minutes of collisions, and it breaks in the second month — for everyone, in exactly the same place.
You grapple
Four gym sessions and three nights on the mat. Every programme you've tried broke in the second month, because none of them counted the mat.
You play
Ninety minutes on Saturday and your legs are gone until Tuesday. The programme doesn't know, so it asks for heavy hinging on Monday anyway.
You run, and you lift
Ten kilometres yesterday. Squats today. Something has to give, and it shouldn't be guesswork.
You're coaching yourself
You know enough to write a block and not enough to know when to abandon it. You need someone to make the call on the week you're too invested to make it yourself.
The boring part, done properly
Periodisation. Progressive overload. RPE. Deloads that arrive when fatigue does, not when the calendar says so.
None of that is interesting, and all of it is the part most apps get wrong before they do anything clever. Granite gets it right first.
What it doesn't do
Granite doesn't write your running plan. It doesn't tell you how to roll, or how to race, or what to eat. There's no sleep score, no streak, no leaderboard, and there never will be.
It writes your lifting, knowing what everything else cost you. That's the whole product.
Why this exists
I spent years designing software used by millions, and couldn't buy the one thing I wanted: a strength coach that knew I'd trained the night before. So I built it. Granite is the coach I couldn't find.
Nothing leaves your phone
No account. No server. No analytics. Your programme, your injuries and every decision the coach makes are stored on your device and nowhere else.
The coaching runs on-device too. Granite works in a basement gym with no signal, and your training history is nobody's business but yours.
Founding members The first 100 subscribers get the coach for £15/month, locked for as long as you stay — in exchange for honest feedback.
0 of 100 claimed
A human strength coach is £200 a month. A shared plan with a chat window is £80, and gives everyone the same week.
For people who train in years, not weeks.
Granite writes yours.
